An early-Makkan surah โ it was hearing this surah that softened the heart of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) to Islam. It assures the Prophet ๏ทบ that the Quran was not sent to distress him, and tells at length the story of Musa: his call at the sacred valley, his confrontation with Pharaoh, and the lesson of the golden calf.
