Revealed partly at Makkah and partly at Madinah. It opens with the earthquake of the Hour, defends the pilgrims' right to the Sacred Mosque, recalls Ibrahim's building of the Ka'bah and his proclamation of Hajj, and grants the first permission to fight to those who had been wronged โ closing with the call to bow, prostrate and strive in Allah's cause.
