Introduction โ from Tafheem-ul-Quran
The People of the Book and the polytheists would not leave their ways until the clear evidence came โ a Messenger reciting purified pages. They were commanded nothing except to worship Allah with sincere devotion, establish prayer and give zakat: that is the right religion. Those who believe and do righteous deeds are 'the best of creatures', whose Lord is pleased with them and they with Him.
