Introduction — from Tafheem-ul-Quran
Revealed when the polytheists asked the Prophet ﷺ to describe his Lord's lineage. Four verses answer for all time: Say, He is Allah, the One; Allah, the Eternal Refuge; He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent. The Prophet ﷺ declared it equal to one third of the Quran.
