Surah Al-Fatiha

Surah Al-Fatiha (The Opening) is the first chapter of the Holy Quran, consisting of seven verses. It is recited in every unit (rak'ah) of the daily prayers.

  1. Praise of Allah — All praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of all worlds.
  2. Allah's Mercy — He is Ar-Rahman (The Most Compassionate) and Ar-Raheem (The Most Merciful).

  4. Worship and Seeking Help — 'You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.'
  5. Guidance — A prayer for the straight path.

Virtues

The Prophet ﷺ described it as the greatest surah in the Quran (Sahih al-Bukhari).
