A Madinan surah completing the law of divorce begun in Al-Baqarah: the waiting periods, the duty of lodging and maintenance, and kindness at parting. Woven through the legislation runs its spiritual refrain: 'Whoever fears Allah — He will make for him a way out, and provide for him from where he does not expect.'
